INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
People make the decision to seek therapy for a number of different reasons. Generally, however, they are seeking to address problems that are preventing them from enjoying their lives. Often, when a person enters therapy, they are feeling overwhelmed by stressful situations in their life. Most of us are unaware of the role that exposure to negative stress, over time, can play in the formation of physical ailments and complaints. Although we can often reduce our exposure to stressors, it is unlikely that we will ever eliminate all stress from our lives. For that reason, our therapists seek to ensure that clients are prepared with a number of strategies for coping with stress.
Below is a partial list of problems that can often be successfully addressed through mental health therapy:
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship difficulties
- Cultural conflicts
- Grief and loss
- Parenting Challenges
- Aging and related challenges
- Loneliness
- Life transitions (i.e., divorce, job loss, empty nest)
- Stress related to illness
